Dallas Police Fatally Shoot Suspect During Hospital Garage Standoff
A man previously connected to U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security detail was shot and killed by police during a tense standoff in Dallas, according to multiple local reports.

Authorities say the man fled from police and drove into a hospital parking garage, where he barricaded himself inside a vehicle.
The situation quickly escalated into a SWAT response after the suspect refused repeated orders to surrender.
Officers deployed tear gas in an attempt to end the standoff peacefully. Police say the man eventually exited the vehicle and pointed a gun toward officers. At that point, officers opened fire, killing him at the scene.
Officials said the suspect did not fire the weapon, and no officers were injured during the encounter.
Suspect Reportedly Identified as Mike King
Law enforcement sources have publicly identified the man as “Mike King,” though authorities have not officially confirmed his identity.
Images obtained by CBS News appear to show King providing security at public events and on the campaign trail during Crockett’s recent U.S. Senate primary run. Records reviewed by reporters indicate that a person with the same name was paid for “security services” in 2025.
Officials say King was not a federal employee or part of an official congressional security team. Like many elected officials, Crockett relies on a combination of official protection and contracted or event-based security personnel during public appearances and campaign events.
Crockett’s office has not yet released a public statement regarding the incident.
Investigation Highlights Concerns About Off Duty Security Networks
Authorities say the suspect had been wanted on allegations of impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Investigators also claim he operated an online platform that connected North Texas officers with off duty security jobs.
