Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Prison Release Date Has Been Set

Diddy’s 50-Month Sentence Sets His Expected Release Date for May 8, 2028

The hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Combs was sentenced on October 3, 2025, by U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, who cited the “need for general deterrence” and “seriousness of the offenses” in his ruling. Along with the prison term, Combs was ordered to serve five years of supervised release and pay a $500,000 fine.

During sentencing, Combs addressed the court and issued an apology to his victims, Cassie Ventura and another woman identified only as “Jane,” calling his actions “disgusting, shameful, and sick.”

His attorneys have since filed a notice of appeal, arguing that the sentence was inconsistent with the jury’s partial acquittal.
