Carlos de Leon and Sophia Alejandro Join Mayor Jones’ Administration
Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones has added two experienced professionals to her administration: Carlos de Leon as Communications Director and Sophia Alejandro as Policy Advisor.
We are thrilled to have Carlos and Sophia on our team working for the people of San Antonio, said Mayor Jones. Together, we will connect San Antonio to the world by telling our story and showcasing our city as a great place to live, work, and thrive.
Mayor Jones
De Leon brings over 15 years of experience in public affairs, communications, and economic development, having led the San Antonio office of Romph Pou Agency and previously served Bexar County Precinct 4 as Director of Community Engagement. He also teaches at the University of the Incarnate Word.
Alejandro joins with a strong background in education and policy advocacy, having worked at UnidosUS, Teach For America, and Leadership for Educational Equity, where she championed educational equity across Texas.
The hires come as Mayor Jones continues to fill key positions within her administration.
