The Distorted History of Race, Mulattos, and Census Manipulation in America
The whole concept of “race” is madness and poison. To illustrate how crazy racists were the term “Negro” meant one thing in one state and another thing in a different state across time. The definition of a “Negro in Virginia, in 1930 was different in 1910. This can be seen in the pamphlet “America’s Laws (1950) by the historian Herbert Aptheker. Hence, the term “Mulatto” was different as well, depending on which white supremacist described it. One must remember that Census takers back in the 1800s, and even into the 1900 hundreds, were ignorant, could barely read or write, and were always White. Therefore, the data in much of the Census displays bad spelling, inaccurate dates and addresses, and other problems.

Manipulation of Census Data
Often a slave master did not want a slave to be labeled “Mulatto” because this might indicate he was the father and did not want his wife or neighbors to suspect he had a relationship with a Black slave. Thus, rapes and sexual crimes cannot be discovered in the census documents and only relying upon they might lead to mistakes or inaccuracies. According to the 1860 census, about 40% of Blacks that were considered “free” are listed as “Mulattos” in city areas while the great majority in the rural areas were not listed as mulatto. This may had had to do with the fact that racists wanted lighter skinned Blacks working more closely around Whites so as to control the concern about Blacks having White fathers. Lighter-skinned Blacks were generally treated better and made to feel superior to their darker brothers and sisters.
Mulattos as Victims of Exploitation
Mulattos were sexual objects and victims of rape as well. A Captain at the home of George Washington, a William North, was quoted in the historical record of 1784,
“Will you believe it, I have not humped a single mulatto since I am here” (Quoted in the Historical Society of Pennsylvania).
This was the madness of white supremacy and the stain on American history that they want us to ignore (you know who they are). Many White abolitionists were filled with white supremacist ideas by referring to Black woman as “over-sexed.” Even worse, some Whites wanted to have sex with Black woman and might even try over and over again until they did and then brag about it at male White gatherings. This racist idea is still around to one degree or another. The spouses of these White men often knew of their secret desires and would at the first opportunity sell the slave woman off while the husband was away.
Profit and Deception
White slave owners often bred slave women in order to obtain a profit for sale of the child. This generally cannot be found in census reports but is hidden in private plantation records, probate court records, and in diaries. Hence, falsifications in the census data were purposeful in that slave owner generally knew what they were doing was wrong and tried to hide it. In this way, they could make the false claim that slavery was not “so bad.” Hundreds of years later we still hear this same garbage from modern-day racists. Many professors made false statical reports about the number of mulattos as this would most likely indicate a rape or sexual abuse. America has been forced to explain the horrors of slavery and more will find out the truth. No amount of lies and anti-DEI propaganda can erase this history, and we will continue to expose it. There was nothing good about slavery and slave owners should have been executed or jailed.
