Families Are Invited to the September 13 Food Distribution at Sam Houston High School
On Saturday, September 13, San Antonio ISD (SAISD) and the San Antonio Food Bank will hold a food distribution event at Sam Houston High School, 4635 E. Houston St. The event will begin at 9 a.m., offering food kits to families on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
SAISD volunteers will assist in the effort, helping families check in and receive supplies. Organizers said the goal is to ensure families and students have access to healthy meals and the support they need outside the classroom.
“Food insecurity impacts learning,” said one SAISD volunteer. “Events like these make sure families have one less worry.”
The partnership between SAISD and the Food Bank continues to provide vital resources to the community, highlighting how schools and local organizations can unite to meet family needs.
