Elon Musk, the ‘47th President of the United States’
Elon Musk has become the face of the Trump administration. He has been busy with Trump, giving exclusive interviews, making decisions, and meddling in government agencies. While Trump may hold the title, Musk appears to be the one pulling the strings.
Musk’s influence has led to sweeping changes in the federal government. As head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has overseen the termination of over 20,000 federal employees and offered buyouts to 75,000 more, all in an effort to reduce government oversight. He has even implemented a controversial policy requiring federal employees to submit weekly reports on their productivity or face termination, with some agencies advising their employees not to comply.
Meanwhile, Musk made a surprise appearance at CPAC, solidifying his growing influence in right-wing politics. His relationship with Trump allows him to advance his business interests unchecked, continuing to raise concerns about conflicts of interest. From a now ‘axed’ Tesla deal in cohorts with the US State Department, meddling in NASA, to influencing multi-dollar defense contracts many are concerned that Musk is using government power to dismantle diversity efforts and create a system that benefits only the wealthy elite.
Background Nobody Cared ‘Check’
Elon Musk is an immigrant from South Africa, where his family profited from apartheid. His father, Errol Musk, made money from investments in Zambian emerald mines, which relied on Black labor under terrible conditions. In apartheid-era South Africa, white families like the Musks lived in privilege, with Black workers at their service.
Apartheid was a business model—one that Musk seems to be replicating. Trump is just a figurehead; Musk is the real power, shaping policies and messaging that Trump echoes. The world’s richest man isn’t just stripping the government down—he’s pushing a modern version of apartheid.
Musk has worked to dismantle diversity efforts, arguing that fair hiring practices are “racist.” He promotes the false white supremacist idea that white men are naturally more qualified than women, nonwhite men, or trans people. His history makes this unsurprising. Musk grew up in white-controlled South Africa and has complained about post-apartheid reforms, calling them “racist ownership laws” and warning of a supposed white “genocide.”
America Runs on Hypocrisy, Not Democracy
Millions overlooked Trump’s lies, corruption, and lack of qualifications to make him the 47th president. The same is happening with Musk.
The people who voted for this administration know exactly what they support—economically, morally, and ethically. The MAGA-GOP is racist, sexist, elitist, and driven by fear. They oppose diversity, equity, and inclusion but welcome billionaires like Musk who reinforce their worldview. This isn’t complicated. It’s just America choosing power over principles—again.
